Terracotta well and recovery stone
WELL IN COTTO AND RECOVERY STONE
Splendid and unusual well in terracotta and recovery stone with a square shape.
The verge that finishes the end of the well is in very well framed sandstone, the two side columns are in round terracotta which are made up of two crossed half-moons and end with a beautiful capital at the top.
The two columns support a beautiful lintel in sandstone where a hook was fixed to draw the water out of the well with a container, to adorn the stone of the architrave we find a very elegant iron decoration nailed by hand and finished by forging.
Well dates back to around 1600 ‘of Tuscan origin.
A farm that is certainly important given its features.
