Cast iron fireplace back - 010

Antique Cast Iron Fireplace Backplate 59x59 cm – Northern Italy (Late 19th Century)

A splendid antique cast iron fireplace backplate, perfectly square in shape, dating back to the late 19th century and salvaged from a historic residence in Northern Italy. This decorative plate remains in excellent condition; it is solid, robust, and ready to be reinstalled inside a hearth.

Its symmetrical dimensions of 59x59 cm offer a generous radiant surface. Positioned at the back of the fireplace, the plate absorbs the heat generated by burning wood and gradually releases it into the room through radiation, improving the thermal efficiency of the space while simultaneously protecting the masonry wall from deterioration caused by fire.
