Cast iron fireplace back - 011

Antique Cast Iron Fireback – Salvaged from Central Italy (Late 19th Century)

Refined antique cast iron fireback, dating back to the final decades of the 19th century (late 1800s) and sourced from a careful building salvage in Central Italy. This protective cast iron panel perfectly blends functionality and the artistry of times past, remaining in an excellent state of preservation, free of cracks and ready for use.

Used at the back of a fireplace, this period plate serves a dual function: it protects the rear wall from the wear of the fire and maximizes thermal efficiency by accumulating heat during combustion and then gently radiating it into the room even after the fire has gone out.
